The H. B. Goodlin Scholarship Competition
annually awards monetary prizes to outstanding young San Diego County
musicians. Talented instrumentalists and keyboardists (organists
and pianists) audition before three judges in the spring at Pt.
Loma Nazarene University.
Applicants must be residents of San Diego
County for at least one year prior to the preliminary audition date.
The teacher does NOT have to be a member of MTAC.
First and second prizes, encouragement awards, and honorary mentions
are given.
Funds for the ongoing scholarship competition
were made available in 1993 when Helen B. Goodlin
donated a significant amount of money for scholarships to young
musicians, to be managed by the
Music Teachers' Association of California, San Diego Branch.
