Collating / Filing / Data Entry
Gain valuable volunteer work experience by assisting with office duties such as collating, filing and data entry. There are many different programs within MTAC that could benefit from your valuable office skills

Concert Program Designer
Create, print and hand-deliver a concert program that correctly lists the performers, composers and titles of the pieces to be performed. Program information will be provided to you by the Event Chair. Submit a hard copy of the final program to ASCAP (MTAC State Office) and save a copy for the MTAC San Diego Branch Historian. A copy should also be sent to the “State Chair, Scrapbooks and Awards” for potential awards at Convention. Printing costs will be reimbursed with a receipt.

Event Registration and Runners
The Registrar is responsible for checking people in as they arrive at the event. Registration doubles as the Information Desk, where you may field questions about where to find practice rooms, “on deck” musicians, refreshments, bathrooms, etc. This position is perfect for alert, helpful, highly organized and knowledgeable people. The Event Chair will provide a list of entrants and sign-in sheet to the Registrar. Runners are helpful in showing people to the practice rooms and where to wait pre-performance.

Recital Usher
Ushers should plan to arrive at the concert venue 30 minutes before the performance to check in with the Event Chair. Hand out concert programs and greet people as they enter the hall. Remain in the back of the hall for the duration of the concert, and collect any leftover programs to return to the Event Chair.

Refreshment Coordinator
Provide snacks/meals for adjudicators and other volunteers. This includes ordering, picking up, paying for and delivering food, paper goods and beverages to the venue. Keeping the food safe for consumption is a high priority and must be planned in advance. Refreshment expenses require prior approval for purchase. Reimbursement requests include submitting the original receipt and reimbursement letter promptly to the Event Chair. Additional volunteers may be needed to assist with ice chests, ice purchase/delivery and/or setting up and cleaning up the refreshment table at the venue.

Selecting Awards
Assist the Event Chair with selecting and purchasing the awards to be given to the students, including (but not limited to) certificates, medallions and trophies. Order the awards, pick them up and deliver them to the Event Chair at or before the event. Submit a reimbursement request and attach the original receipt to the Event Chair for prompt payment.
